CloudBit OS is a web-based cloud desktop environment running directly inside your browser. It provides a full window manager, file explorer, code editor, and productivity apps while using your Google Drive as virtual cloud storage.
How does Google Drive storage integration work?+
CloudBit OS uses standard Google OAuth 2.0 with strict, minimal scopes (drive.file and drive.appdata). It reads and writes only files created by or explicitly opened with CloudBit OS. Your existing personal Drive files remain completely untouched and private.
Can CloudBit OS work offline without an internet connection?+
Yes! CloudBit OS leverages Progressive Web App (PWA) service workers and IndexedDB local caching. Files edited while offline are automatically queued and synchronized back to Google Drive once your network connection is restored.
Are my private files stored on CloudBit OS servers?+
No. CloudBit OS operates completely serverlessly regarding your files. All document data transfers directly between your browser client and Google Drive APIs. We store zero personal documents on intermediate servers.
